The Atsushi Tanji invention works as follows
The invention provides a system for displaying a predetermined bone cutting plane to a surgeon during surgery. The bone-cutting support system comprises a storage for storing 3D shape information of a surgery targets bone and position data from a marker attached to the surgery targets bone. A bone-cutting plane determiner determines based on this 3D shape information a position and orientation of a cutting guide plane or a cutting guide plane that represents a plane that will guide the surgeon in cutting the surgery targets bone.
Background for Bone Cutting Support System, Information Processing Apparatus, Image Processing Method, and Image Processing Program
Patent literature 1 describes a technique for determining the cutting position of a bone from an inverted image and an image of the target bone. Patent literature 2 discloses how to generate a prosthetic, artificial bone model using a bone cutting position. Non-patent literature shows software which generates 3D surface models (STL: Stereolithography) from DICOM data, a standard format for medical images such as CT (Computer Tomography)/MRI(Magnetic Resonance Imaging). Non-patent literature shows software that simulates joint and bone surgery in advance by using 3D surface model data (STL).

Technical Problem
However the techniques described above require the expert knowledge and operation of a physician to grasp the condition of a bony after cutting. The doctor’s expertise is needed to decide the best bone-cutting position. The doctor must also observe the living bone to determine the cutting position.
The present invention provides a method of solving the problems described above.
Solution to Problem
The present invention includes a system for cutting bones that comprises:
a storage which stores 3D shape information of a surgical target bone in conjunction with position data from a marker;
A bone cutting plane determiner which determines, on the basis of 3D shape data, the position and direction of a cutting plane that represents a plane for cutting the surgery target; and
A bone cutting plane display which displays the determined plane of bone cutting based on the image captured by capturing the mark.
The invention also provides an information processing device that is used to support the cutting system.

The present invention also provides a method of image processing used in the cutting system.
storing 3D shape and position data for a surgical target bone in conjunction with each other
The 3D shape of the surgery-target bone is used to determine the position and direction of the bone cutting plane that represents the plane in which the surgery-target bone will be cut.
Yet another feature of the invention is an image processing software used in the cutting system that causes a computer execute a method including:
